The first New York International Carpet Show, NYICS, was held in the North Pavilion
of Javits Center in New York City from September 27th to 30th, 2005. The owner
and organizer of the show was Dennis Dodds, who is an architect and secretary of
the International Conference on Oriental Carpets, ICOC.

The show started at 12:00 noon after the registration of the visitors. A total of 16
exhibitors participated in the show. They were located at the two sides of a wide
hallway in a one-story building and exhibition center. The show was easy access
and the participants had no problem with loading and unloading their bales and
palettes of rugs.

The quality of rugs presented was much higher than other shows as they were
carefully and tastefully selected by the exhibitors.

Among the exhibitors, one could find the names such as "Rugs by Robinson", "New
Moon Rugs", "Woven Legends", and "Zollanvari Ltd.", "Hali Publications Ltd." and
"Rug Insider" magazine were also presented at the show. The second NYICS will
take place in New York in September 2006.
